COLOUR CORRECTION AND FINAL COLOUR GRADING
Years of colour grading motion picture film for 8+ hours a day makes our colourist’s work stand apart. We understand film. We know how to massage the best out of this beautiful organic format.
Flat Scans
- Flat Scan with no additional colour correction
- Intended for someone who wants to have the flexibility to colour correct the footage on their own
- Low contrast, wide dynamic range data scan that preserves all shadow and highlight detail.
- Will require some colour grading to ‘sweeten’ up the image for viewing
- costs slightly less then a timed scan as it doesn’t go to our colourist for correction
Timed Scans
- Flat Scan followed by Full scene by scene colour / contrast correction by our colourist.
- Intended for someone who wants to be hands off and get a great looking scan without any extra effort.
- Neutralizing colour shifts, adding contrast / saturation and other special sauce techniques to make it shine.
- fix over / underexposed footage to give a consistent look.
- fix fading and colour shifts typical on older films to restore the film to its original intended look.
- costs slightly more then a flat scan due to the colourist’s time spent in the colour suite
Supervised Sessions
- Flat scan followed by Full scene by scene colour / contrast correction by our colourist with your direct input
- Intended for someone who wants to work together with us to achieve a specific look with our colourist.
- We invite you into the colour correction suite or remotely to advise on the colour / contrast corrections and together we make your film look beautiful.
- charged at an hourly rate on top of the flat scan cost
*For supervised colour sessions, or if you have a special project to discuss, send us an email or give us a call.
